  2. Select the Tag Rules button.

  3. From the dropdown, click Advanced Rules.

  4. Click the navy Create Rule button in the upper right.

Step 2: Define Rule Properties

  • Name: Enter the name of the Sales Manager at the top of the hierarchy (e.g., John Smith).

  • Description: Provide a clear summary of the rule’s purpose.

Example: ā€œPay Sales Manager John Smith 30% of commissions generated by a group of 10 advisors under him.ā€

Step 3: Set Rule Criteria

  2. Under the Field dropdown, select Writing Agent Name.

  3. In the next dropdown, select Includes.

This defines the group of advisors whose activity will trigger the payout to the Sales Manager.

Step 4: Apply the Tag

  1. Scroll to the Tag section.

  2. In the Tag Name dropdown, select Sales Manager.

  3. In the Value field, enter the Sales Manager’s name (John Smith).

This step links the rule to the Sales Manager’s identity and ensures they are tagged appropriately in downstream reports.

Step 5: Configure the Commission Formula

  1. Scroll to the Formula section.

  2. Click the Show Fields button.

  3. Select Commission from the available field list.

  4. In the formula bar, enter the percentage to be paid to the Sales Manager (e.g., 30% or 0.30 * Commission depending on your system's syntax).

Step 6: Save the Rule

  • Click the navy Save Rule button in the lower-right corner.

Once saved, the rule is automatically applied to all matching transactions in the system.

Step 7: Confirm Results in the Data Tab

  1. Navigate back to the Data tab.
