Your plan controls two things: how many statements you can upload per month, and which features your team can use. Both are visible on a single page.
Open the Billing page
Click your avatar in the top-right, then Billing. The page has three sections:
Current plan — name, monthly upload cap, included features.
Usage — uploads used this billing period, with a progress bar.
Actions — change plan, open billing portal, cancel.
How the usage meter works
Stateable counts every statement you upload successfully against your monthly cap, no matter how big it is. A 5-row CSV and a 500-page PDF each count as one.
The meter starts fresh on the first day of each billing period (your billing day is the day you started the plan). As you get close to the cap, a banner appears at the top of the app showing how many you've used and your limit.
What doesn't count:
Documents in No Match or Error status — these didn't upload successfully.
Deleted statements — once you remove one, its slot opens back up for the rest of the period.
Uploading the same file again after a deletion — that's just one new upload.
Hitting the cap
Once you hit the cap, new uploads stop with a clear message:
Note:This upload would exceed your plan's monthly limit (used X of Y). Upgrade your plan or wait for the next billing period.
Three paths from there:
Upgrade. Upgrades take effect right away — uploads start working the moment Stripe confirms the charge. See [Change or cancel your plan](change-your-plan).
Wait. The meter starts fresh at the start of your next billing period.
Delete unused statements. If you uploaded test files, removing them opens their slots back up.
What features each plan unlocks
Features that depend on your plan include:
External S3 destination (sending scheduled exports straight to your own cloud storage).
AI assistant.
API access via the API Portal.
Higher seat counts on the Team page.
The exact features your plan includes are listed on the Billing page. If your plan doesn't include a feature, it shows up greyed out elsewhere in the app, with a "Available on Pro and above" hint.
Where the actual numbers live
Stripe handles payments. Your invoices, charge history, and card details all live in the Stripe Billing Portal, which you open from the Billing page. Stateable never stores your card number.
