Every new Stateable organization starts with a 14-day free trial of the plan picked at signup. This article covers the day-14 transition: what changes, what doesn't, and what your options are.
The trial banner
From signup onward, a banner at the top of every page (once you're signed in) shows two things: days remaining and uploads used vs. cap. The banner turns yellow at five days remaining and red at one day or after your trial ends.
If you've added a payment method
Your trial turns into a paid subscription on the same plan automatically. You don't have to do anything.
Stripe charges your card for the first billing period at midnight UTC on day 14.
The banner disappears (no more countdown).
You stay on whatever plan was attached to the trial.
Heads up: If the charge doesn't go through (expired card, bank decline), your org is marked past_due (payment overdue) and the app shows a banner with a direct link to the Stripe billing portal. You get a grace period to update your payment details before anything stops working.
If you haven't added a payment method
At the end of day 14, your organization is marked trial expired:
You can still sign in.
You can still see your existing data and download statements.
You cannot upload new statements.
You cannot run exports.
You cannot create or edit rules.
Stateable keeps your data for as long as you need after your trial ends. Whenever you're ready, add a payment method on the Billing page and everything goes back to normal.
If you need more time
We can extend trials in certain situations — for example, a tricky statement that Stateable Support is still looking into, or your purchasing process needs another two weeks. To ask for an extension:
Click Support in the app.
Explain the situation. Include the reason and the number of additional days you need.
We look at each request individually and say yes to most reasonable ones.
If you decide Stateable isn't right
There's nothing to do. If you don't add a payment method, you're not charged. Your data stays safe and is there whenever you want to come back.
If you'd like us to delete the org and its data outright, contact Support and ask. We process deletions within a few business days and confirm by email when complete.
The week after expiration
The Billing page still works and shows "trial expired" along with the same plan-change buttons a paying customer would have. The fastest way back to everything working again:
Open Billing.
Click Open billing portal and add a card.
Return to the app. Everything turns back on right away.
