Every file you upload to Stateable moves through three steps: Analyzing, Parsing, and Done, with a few other outcomes along the way. This article covers what each status means and what to do when something doesn't go as planned.
The usual path
Analyzing — Stateable is looking over the file to figure out the carrier and the kind of document it is. Usually finishes in a few seconds.
Parsing — the rows are being pulled out of the document. This is the longest step; expect up to a minute per ~100 pages.
Done — the statement's data is now ready in the Data tab, and the file shows up in Documents. You can remove the upload card or leave it for reference.
Other outcomes
No Match — Stateable doesn't yet recognize this carrier's statement layout. No data is brought in. Send the file to Stateable Support (using the Support button) so we can add this carrier. This usually takes a few business days.
Duplicate — an identical file has already been processed by your team. The data from the first one is still there, so there's nothing to do. If you wanted to run it again after changing a setting, delete the existing statement first.
Error — parsing stopped after the carrier was matched. This usually means the file is damaged or laid out in a way we didn't expect. Try uploading a fresh copy from the carrier, and if it keeps failing, let us know through Support.
Where to see the status
Statuses show up in two places:
Upload sheet — each card shows the three-dot progress tracker while the file is still being worked on. This view clears when you reload the page (or when you click Clear completed).
Currently parsing — the shared list at the top of the Upload sheet, covering your whole team. This list stays put when you reload and shows files a teammate started.
